Qomolangma Base Camp

Cars are not allowed beyond Rongbuk Monastery, so Qomolangma climbers are required to leave their cars and ride a horse-drawn coach 7 km to Base Camp, which is located at 5,200 meters and just 19 km from the climbing route. Climbers and visitors will find tents and other services around Base Camp to give them a good night's rest before they begin their climb.
